Better Together

Oh. My. Goodness. This has been a kinda crazy/funny/only happens to OFO's past two hours.

11:00 - Decide to check the flights of my mom and my cousin each scheduled to land at Reagan at 3:00 pm.

11:01 - Mom is estimated to be on time. Woo hoo!

11:02 - Casey is......delayed......oh no. Not good. THREE hour delay....what!

11:03 - No answer on Casey's cell phone, she is probably on her way to the airport and has no idea of the delay.

11:10 - Call mom, she just got her little scissors taken away that were in her make-up bag. The little scissors that were her mother's that she got 10 years ago.

11:12 - Tell my mother to go get her scissors back.

11:25 - Mom calls me back. No success on the scissors.

11:45 - Still haven't heard from Casey. Call her parents.

11:46 - The OFO van is currently crossing the West Virginia border. They have talked to Casey, but none of them knew of the delay.

11:47 - Receive email saying that Casey's flight is cancelled.

12:05 - Casey calls. She is on standby for a flight that leaves O'Hare at 2 central time. She has a boarding pass for a flight that leaves at 5:30 central time.

12:07 - Call my sister to tell her the news.

12:08 - Krista calls her husband to tell him the news.

12:15 - Steve calls Casey to tell her to get back in line and to ask for a different airline, he equips her with flight numbers for United and US Air as she was getting nowhere with American.

12:27 - Call Casey. She is in line with 3 people in front of her. She plans to tell them that she needs to be in town for a rehearsal dinner.

12:28 - Laugh. Out. Loud. This must be a plan constructed by the OFO we all like to call, The Brain.

12:29 - Call sister to ask her if the rehearsal dinner idea was Steve's. She doesn't know about it but we decide that it must have been and we share many laughs and decide that tonight at dinner, we are SO pretending that someone's getting married tomorrow.

12:37 - Casey calls. She is running to another gate. The plane is boarding now and leaves at 12:06 central time. Plane gets in at 3 pm, same time as my mom, and same time as originally planned.

12:38 - But wait, Casey says, the plane gets in to Baltimore. That's okay, right?

12:38:10 - But mom gets in to Reagan at 3. The bwah wah wah music is cued in the background.

12:38:15 - Alas! Krista and Steve have to drive through Baltimore and should be there around that time.

12:38:16 - YESSSSSSSSSS

All OFO's are currently and officially in route. Just like Jack Johnson says, everything is always better when we're together.
