And let the rain come pouring in
A few Do's and Don'ts that I learned at the DMB concert on Saturday:
Don't bring further attention to yourself and your other under 18 American Eagle ad friends by breaking out the beer pong table after you have already locked your keys in your SUV and had to call a tow truck company to unlock it. You will get busted and have all of your beer confiscated. Furthermore, all the "overage" people around will laugh hysterically at you for the rest of the afternoon.
Do get to the parking lot early to tailgate because Carter may drive by in his big red tour bus and honk and wave at you. You will get really excited and incessantly wave back at him like a dork.
Don't ask someone who has been playing beer pong all afternoon to take a picture. Your picture will be from far away and turn out crappy. (You know, Mr. Drunk Beer Pong Player, there is a little feature on most cameras called a zoom.)
(It would have been sweet had we driven my car and the dmb-themed license plate been right in between us.)
Do buy tickets for pavilion seats lest the concert fall in the midst of 5 days of torrential downpours.
Don't spend a good five minutes trying to take a good picture of yourselves when no one is around to shield your illegal camera from "security." You will be warned to put it away because apparently Dave has specifically asked for no photos to be taken. At all. Even of yourselves. (Right. Because Dave is concerned that two girls sitting in the 300 section are going to take pictures and the flash is going to blind him?)
Do at least attempt to tame your humidity-induced frizz. Don't wear a t-shirt of the band that you are going to see. In both cases, you will look like an idiot and others will laugh.
Do tell the 19 year old next to you that you won't buy him beer. The chick in front of you will end up buying it for him in exchange for hits of weed anyway.
Do start crying like a baby when Dave dedicates a song to the guys at the show from Walter Reed when you are sitting right behind them and can clearly see all of their heart-breaking war injuries.
Don't even bother taking your camera inside if you are sitting in a 300 section. Even if you are dead center, your pictures will still be crappy.

Don't specifically wish for five songs. You will only hear one of them.
Don't have any regrets. They are your favorite band and they have now played your theme song at 4 out of the 5 concerts you have attended (the only song that I've heard more than 3 times).

I haven't been to a DMB concert in forever...I think it was right after Crash was released.
Jason lost his enthusiasm for them after Dave was going on and on about smoking pot at the concert we attending in WPB. Jason is big on celebrities not being a stupid influence on kids.
I still like his 1st 2 albums best...
Nice earrings. :)
I'd almost sign up for the military just to get to work at Walter Reed hospital.
